We’re leading the search for an experienced Data Engineer for one of Europe's leading games studios based in the heart of Berlin, to evolve their data pipeline and to challenge the team to find even better solutions.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be an essential part of their Data team, inspiring and sharing your expertise with your colleagues. Their Data Engineering team is responsible for providing the data infrastructure, services and tools they use to analyse, improve and personalize their games which are enjoyed by millions of players every month. The team is processing terabytes of data and enables number-driven business decisions within the company in all areas.

With over 300 employees from around the world, the studio’s talented and diverse teams work together, with an emphasis on close collaboration, to create high-quality casual games with engaging stories at the core of the experience.

Your responsibilities…

  • Keep data infrastructure up and running while modernizing it

  • Improve and maintain tooling that makes their game analysts and data scientists’ lives easier

  • Build software that help the marketing team to integrate and analyse data from various sources

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…

  • 4 or more years’ experience in data engineering using Scala, Java or Python

  • Deep knowledge of working with Kubernetes, also managing a cluster

  • Comfortable working with cloud providers, ideally AWS

  • Experience working with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow)

  • Experience with DevOps and Infrastructure (Kubernetes, Docker, Github - CI/CD pipelines, Terraform)

  • Familiar with Kafka

  • You value collaboration, and consider yourself to be a team player

  • You’re up to date with the latest technologies in Data Engineering

  • Good written and spoken English language skills 

Non-essential but desirable extras…
