We’ve partnered with a dynamic and growing global video games publisher to find them a Senior PR Manager to join their Marketing department and boost the potential of the publisher’s titles in the marketplace.

As Senior PR Manager you will working with the Brand team, Development teams, and internal teams to maximize the potential of titles by driving innovative, consistent, and effective PR campaigns.

The publisher takes a refreshing route to market with its titles and holds a strong focus on ethical business practices, whilst maximizing the returns of their developer partners.

***This a fully remote role to be worked from within the UK.***

Your responsibilities…
  • Work closely with the Marketing Director to create and execute first-class PR campaigns.
  • Build and nurture a strong network of relationships with international media and influencers.
  • Visit UK and international media and influencers, presenting first looks, previews, reviews, and general updates (this will require business travel).
  • Update media on titles and fully understand the strengths of the games.
  • Develop creative story pitches to sell to media outlets, aligned with brand pillar.
  • Build communication strategies and tactics to secure coverage from mainstream media.
  • Localize and distribute press releases and media alerts.
  • Build effective PR assets and oversee necessary licensor/developer approvals of PR materials.
  • Evaluate code, including assessing the suitability for first looks, previews, and reviews, and where applicable, conduct mock reviews.
  • Evangelize product potential both internally and externally, developing a deep understanding of products and product vision.
  • Deliver informative reporting on press activities, coverage, and opportunities.
  • Track, measure, and report on the success of key activities to senior management.
  • Help raise the publisher’s profile in the industry through an effective communications strategy.
  • Be on top of industry award events and identify relevant opportunities for the publisher’s games.
  • Build post-release plans, including competitions and interviews, to ensure continued competition beyond the release window.
  • Support the Physical Box Business by building and maintaining databases of media and ‘influencers’ who create ‘box opening’ videos, and ensure they receive physical editions.
  • Play a key role in the planning, design, and execution of international events, and the publisher’s own showcase events
  • Attend consumer and media events in the UK or overseas as required.
  • Assist the Sales and Marketing team in promoting product potential to local distributors and support retail expansion efforts.
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…
  • 7 years’ experience at the Communications Manager level or above, be that in-house, agency or a combination of both.
  • Experienced in video game PR operations and strategy.
  • A love of video games, with proficiency in playing and presenting video games.
  • A deep understanding of the video game industry.
  • Track record in delivering first-class communications campaigns for video games.
  • Strong network of international media and ‘influencer’ contacts.
  • Experience in strategic messaging and positioning and crafting compelling messages or stories that resonate with target media.
  • Proficient copywriting, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new techniques and develop new skills.
  • Willingness to work outside of standard business hours as and when the role dictates.
  • Enthusiastic mindset coupled with the drive to work remotely with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and a focus on process.
  • Reliability, self-motivation, and professionalism, especially when handling confidential information.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and accommodate changing priorities without compromising quality.
  • Competence in tracking, measuring, and reporting on progress across all tasks.
