A pioneering game development studio is looking for a Senior Game Designer who will take responsibility for gameplay features, systems, and mechanics from concept through to final implementation.

As a Senior Game Designer, you will own various design elements and collaborate closely with other departments to ensure that features align with the game’s vision and deliver a top-tier player experience. You’ll balance creative vision with player engagement, gather feedback, iterate on designs, and consider the value of features for both players and the studio.

Your responsibilities…

  • Lead the design and implementation of gameplay features, serving as the main point of contact for these areas within the Design team

  • Develop game mechanics and systems that engage and excite players

  • Utilise Unreal Engine 5 to build prototypes and validate design concepts

  • Collaborate with Designers, Programmers, and the Game Director to ensure features align with the overall game vision

  • Advocate for the game’s vision and specific features across the studio

  • Analyse feedback and make necessary adjustments to improve player experience

  • Maintain detailed, up-to-date design documentation

  • Work with other departments to ensure consistent quality and timely delivery of features

  • Mentor Junior Designers, supporting their professional growth

  • Ensure the game meets high-quality standards, identifying areas for enhancement

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…

  • 5 or more years’ experience as a Game Designer in the games industry

  • Involvement in the development and release of a console or PC game

  • Proficiency in Unreal Engine for creating prototypes and game mechanics is essential

  • Comfortable using Unreal Engine Blueprints system

  • A deep understanding of game mechanics and player engagement strategies

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Comfortable working both independently and within a team
