Lead Technical Artist (EU Remote)
Job description
We’re working with a Polish based studio who are looking to hire an experienced and passionate Lead Technical Artist with AAA experience to drive their Technical Art team. You’ll be working on their new AAA project, which is based on a world-famous IP, and being built in Unreal Engine 5.
As Lead Technical Artist you will head up a strong, harmonious team bursting with positive energy as they create unique gaming adventures, that are built by gamers for gamers. You will lead the way in assisting the studio’s Art teams and Tech teams in elevating the project’s artistic vision to new heights.

***This role can be worked remotely from with the European Union, or on a hybrid on on-site basis.***
Your responsibilities…
Provide leadership and mentorship to the Technical Art team, assisting and setting the technical art direction in collaboration with the studio Technical Art Director.
Identify and communicate potential project risks to other Leads, Directors, and management.
Act as a key resource in technical art, art processes and production, lighting and other tech art adjacent disciplines.
Coordinate with Level Design and Gameplay teams to establish tool, and system pipelines that enforce and respect the performance budgets.
Coordinate with the Art department to plan the production of technical solutions based on Artists' requests that will meet the principles of versatility, expandability, ease of use and respect performance budgets.
With the help of Production, assist in project planning, set clear team objectives, and support technology road mapping.
Onboard and guide development partners in internal tools and pipelines.
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…
Proven track record in AAA game development with a credited contribution to at least one complete project cycle.
5 or more years of experience in game development as a Technical Artist.
Previous experience as a Lead Technical Artist.
Effective English communication skills, both written and spoken.
Strong soft skills enabling effective mediation and fostering collaborative decision-making.
In-depth knowledge of UE5 or UE4 for PC and console games, including knowledge of technical limitations and complexities.
Knowledge of modern scripting languages (Python, Blueprints) and C++ for the Unreal Engine API.
Knowledge of modern art production workflows and its industry standard DCC’s and their scripting languages (at least one of 3DS Max, Maya or Blender).
Bonus points if you have…
Experience using Houdini.
PCG knowledge or have already made worlds with PCG.
