AAA studio, Sharkmob London have teamed up with us as they look for a Lead Level Designer to help drive and deliver engaging levels and points of interest for players to enjoy and explore in their new fantasy MMO project.
As a Lead Level Designer you will develop and mentor your Design team, enabling the career growth of the team’s devs whilst growing the team’s capabilities.
Within your role, there will also be a combination of hands on work, when needed, helping to set the quality standard and you’ll contribute to strategic development decisions within the game. You’ll also help with target setting and collaborate with Production to manage and assess design tasks.

Your responsibilities...
- Take ownership of the design of the project’s game world, collaborating closely with discipline directors to deliver a shared vision
- Collaborate with the Gameplay teams to define the metrics necessary for the low-level design of the game world
- Work alongside Art and Narrative leadership to design and deliver environments that are in line with the lore and visual goals
- Along with the Production team, create a clear content production schedule for your team
- Assist the Tech team in the definition and delivery of the tools needed to meet the level and world design needs for the project
- Work with the recruitment team to identify the resource you need to meet design goals
- Provide line management to the Level Design team, run regular design meetings as well as holding 1-on-1’s and performance reviews
- 5 or more years of level design experience and one or more shipped titles
- Experience of working in a Lead Design role
- Professional experience working in Unreal Engine
- Experienced in delivering high quality level content in your earlier positions
- Able to develop productive and lasting cross discipline relationships
- A passionate gamer, preferably with a love for open-world and online games
