Job description

We are on the lookout for a QA Project Manager to define and deliver QA project planning, requirements and deliverables at a QA provider who are based in Bridgetown, Barbados!

As QA Project Manager you’ll work closely with the QA Manager to oversee project timelines, resources and deliverables while ensuring adherence to best QA practices and client expectations. You’ll also play a key role in the relationships with the company’s clients, being the primary contact and providing regular updates on projects through transparent communication.

Your responsibilities…

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute QA projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, scope, and budget

  • Create detailed project documentation, including test plans, progress reports, and post-mortem analyses to evaluate project performance and identify areas for improvement

  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and quality

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing expectations, addressing concerns, and providing regular project updates

  • Recommend QA KPIs/metrics and implement dashboards to visualize project performance and health status

  • Flag gaps in project test strategy and opportunities to improve existing processes and test methods/techniques

  • Drive process improvements and innovation in QA methodologies to enhance efficiency, quality, and client satisfaction

  • Lead, mentor and facilitate regular 121 meetings with direct reports

  • Help administrate and maintain QA hardware, tools and test accounts

  • Interview for QA hires when needed

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…

  • 5 or more years of QA experience in games industry with experience as QA Project Manager, Manager or Lead

  • Expert understanding of software QA and games development practices, production lifecycle, processes and terminology

  • Excellent communication, risk analysis and problem-solving skills with a customer-centric approach to client relationships

  • Proven ability to motivate teams, mentor individuals and operate effectively in a dynamic environment

  • Knowledge of Functionality, Compliance and Compatibility QA processes and best practices

  • Great working knowledge of most common bug/project tracking databases  like JIRA and test management software like TestRail

Desirable but not essential extras…

  • ISTQB or equivalent certifications

  • Knowledge of certification requirements for major console platforms

  • Experience managing large test teams and/or multiple substantial game projects

  • Familiarity with mobile and VR testing

  • Experience with Live Ops and Games-as-a-service projects

  • Experience with continuous testing and test automation

  • Familiarity with various game engines, platforms, SDKs, and dev/test tools

  • Knowledge of programming and scripting languages
