Job description

We are supporting one of the up and coming studios in their search for a Lead Online Programmer. 

You’ll be joining at the very beginning of the production cycle for the studio’s second IP, you will guide their networking team in creating and enhancing the online features of their new IP as well as working on their existing infrastructure.

Your responsibilities...

  • Lead and manage a networking team, ensuring successful maintenance and expansion of online features

  • Collaborate with the Online team and feature owners to design and implement new online functionalities

  • Perform line management duties, including resource planning, with the support of senior leadership

  • Contribute to various networking layers, including real-time gameplay, external service integration, and backend development

  • Monitor live service performance and stability, and develop plans to address any identified issues

  • Promote best practices for writing clear, maintainable code across the team

The skills and experience you'll bring to the role...

  • Experience building online infrastructure

  • Highly proficient in C# or C++

  • Strong computer science foundation with a commitment to continuous learning and skill improvement

  • 3 or more years’ experience in real-time networking within video games, simulations, or related projects that have been publicly released

  • Leadership experience, with a readiness to step into a more prominent leadership role

  • A collaborative and positive approach to problem-solving

  • A focus on team success and individual growth
