Senior Artist (UK Remote)
Job description
We’re working with a Liverpool based studio who are on the lookout for a Senior Artist to work on multiple projects. The studio design and develop their own IPs as well as co-developing as a work for hire studio, giving you a variety of projects upon which to make your mark.
You will help to deliver the artistic vision for their games, as well as inspiring and helping to manage a team of Artists to implement that vision. You will be involved from concept to sign off, through to pitching and representing the game publicly.

Your responsibilities…
- Help to manage a team of artists to deliver the game design vision
- Create concepts, ideas, and mood boards for the art vision of the studio’s games
- Present mood boards and references to stakeholders for initial sign off
- Drive improvements to the art production pipeline
- Produce high quality assets suitable for production both technically and artistically
- Provide technical and quality control of output on assigned projects
- Help ensure your quality standards are defined and adhered to by the team, and there is clear consistency with the project's artistic vision
- Create and refine art bibles, style guides, and mood boards; then ensure assets meet specifications provided by all relevant departments
- Act as a mentor for new or less experienced artists, as well as for all the members on the development team
- Help create the art for fun playable prototype games and develop them with the support of other team members
- 5 or more years games industry experience as an artist
- Shipped 2 or more titles as a Senior Artist
- Hands-on knowledge of the Unity engine
- Worked on diverse titles and genres of game
- Experience of working and delivering in an Indie/Mid-Level studio environment
- A portfolio showing a diverse mix of stylistic and realistic art styles
- Strong all round portfolio showing concept to execution
- Strong understanding of game art asset production and creative production processes to improve art pipelines
- A self-starter who is willing to observe potential pitfalls and to think quickly and help the leadership team to solve problems
- Team mentality with excellent communication skills and can collaborate, teach, and learn from others
- Organised and comfortable prioritising and coordinating across the art team
- A passion for all forms of art and creativity
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Experience of AAA game art development
- Experience of environment and character concepting through to modelling
- Background in fine arts is advantageous, to demonstrate the fundamentals of art, visual design, composition, and colour theory
