Job description
Avalanche Studios are currently searching for a Lead Programmer (Platform Code) to join their creative division, Expansive Worlds in Malmö, to work on the open world title Hunter: Call of the Wild.
You will be leading a talented, multi-location programming team to help develop and improve aspects of the game and core engine technology, working on the proprietary Apex open world-engine as well as working with many different systems.

Your responsibilities…
You will be leading a talented, multi-location programming team to help develop and improve aspects of the game and core engine technology, working on the proprietary Apex open world-engine as well as working with many different systems.

Your responsibilities…
- Utilise your leadership abilities and collaborate across disciplines to drive efficient releases on multiple target platforms
- Be involved in systems development and work in a variety of systems such as streaming, threading, memory management, platform
- Maintain, develop, and improve aspects of the game and core engine technology
- Supporting the link between the project and proprietary Apex technology
- Update and optimize systems and workflows
- 5+ years industry experience using C++
- Guiding/mentorship experience
- Strong debugging skills
- Experience with a wide range of tools and pipelines used in modern game development
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for leading a team
- Prior experience in a leadership position in games
- Experience with in-house engines and game level systems
- A solid understanding of game engine architectures and future architectural trends
- Familiarity with animation systems
- Hybrid/flexible working
