EA Critereon – Guildford, UK
(12 Month Contract)

Want to work on a beloved IP from one of the biggest names in AAA game development?

Over the last fifteen years, EA Criterion have entertained millions of players around the world with award-winning games. From Burnout and Need for Speed, to the critically acclaimed VR mission for Star Wars Battlefront, Starfighter Assault on Battlefront ll, and now Battlefield V: Firestorm. Criterion have always pushed the boundaries, delivering through technical excellence, outstanding game handling, and AAA audiovisual quality.

They place enormous value on creative collaboration, fresh ideas, and unique perspectives. The studio is a healthy mix of industry veterans and newcomers, working together to inspire, support, and educate one another. Free experimentation, innovation, and exploration with regular “off-the-grid” time is very much encouraged.

Based in rural but accessible Guildford, they are an amazing and long-standing studio with a 'no crunch' approach to development.

As their new UX Designer, you will be responsible for developing user experience strategies and designs to achieve reusable and scalable game interfaces that immerse the player in an intuitive experience. Collaboration will be key, as you bring together requirements from Art Directors and Game Directors to develop in-game visual style guides, UI design systems, information architecture, and game features. You will work with a multidiscipline team of artists, engineers, and technical artists.

The skills and XP you'll need to succeed:

  • Games UX experience with a visual design portfolio that demonstrates your user interface and graphic design skills
  • Experience in the aspects of player experience flow, from brief/problem definition, to the solution of the problem
  • Capable with the user journey by means of flow charts/information architecture, wireframes, and potential prototypes
