PortalOne are on the lookout for an Unreal Gameplay Programmer to join their talented team!

PortalOne has created a whole new genre of entertainment that combines live "TV" shows and games to give users a more engaging games experience, with stunning visuals and interactivity. Not only does this convergence provide an incredibly entertaining experience but players are able to win real money in weekly gameshows!

Having attracted over $100 million USD in investment from various sources, including Atari, they are set to be big!

Their development studio in Oslo, Norway is looking to grow their team and is happy to provide full visa sponsorship, relocation support as well as $5000 USD to cover the cost of relocation.      

As their new Unreal Gameplay Programmer, you will be working with a relatively small but powerful team of talented and motivated specialists, prototyping, developing and implementing game logic and features, as well as maintaining and updating the game after launch.

Your role and responsibilities will include…
 

  • Developing new game logic and features using Unreal Engine 4 (both Blueprints and C++)
  • Writing clean code (optimized, scalable, well-documented)
  • Helping other colleagues and work together with them to solve technical challenges, to achieve the best results

Their product is an always-online mobile game that combines real-time gameplay with live shows. The product is based on Unreal Engine 4. Some of the back-end platforms that they use are AWS (Amazon Web Services) and PlayFab.

The skills and experience you'll need…
 

  • A minimum of 3 years of recent professional development with Unreal Engine 4
  • Vast knowledge and working expertise in C++
  • A specialisation in development of mobile applications with constant back-end communication
  • Full-working proficiency and fluency in English (ability to discuss work-related tasks verbally and in written form)

Bonus points if you have…
 

  • Experience in Tool Development and CI/CD pipelines
  • Extensive track record in game development
  • Familiarity with video streaming technologies
  • Computer Science degree/education
