Guildford-based Media Molecule are looking for a Server Programmer to join their team. The studio are well known for being the creators of the multi-award winning titles Little Big Planet, Little Big Planet 2, Tearaway, Tearaway Unfolded and their latest title Dreams, which is where you come in!
I'm supporting them in their search for a Server Programmer to join them either in-studio or remotely, working on Dreams. On the server team at Media Molecule you will focus on building online metagame experiences in collaboration with client-side teams.
You'll be working with Artists, Designers and Tech and use your experience and passion for developing compelling player experiences to help expand the vision of Dreams.
Expect to be working closely with cross discipline client-side teams to improve upon and scale new and existing social metagame features.
You'll be responsible for designing, developing and supporting high performance online services with a focus on metagame and monetisation.
You will also improve and iterate on low level networking systems, complete profiling, performance analysis and performance tuning to ensure server and game performance goals are met. In addition you'll work closely with other Programmers, Production, Analytics and QA to ensure the code shipped is high quality, and assist with the deployment of new servers and monitor operations after launch.

- Strong knowledge of both C and C++
- Deep understanding of algorithms and data structures
- Well versed in distributed systems
- Able to work effectively with varied scripting languages
- Excellent debugging and analytical skills
- Team player with good communication skills
- Knowledge of scalable cloud server architectures, common computer networking protocols and network security
Bonus XP if you have experience in any of the following…
- Working in Windows/Linux environments.
