Job Description

Senior Unreal Programmer

Purple Lamp Studios – Vienna, AT

I'm working with the Vienna based Purple Lamp Studios to find a Senior Programmer.

Purple Lamp Studios is a multi-platform studio founded by industry veterans who wanted to pursue their passion without the red-tape and limitations often found in the big studios. Purple Lamp are part of the THQ-Nordic group so they still benefit from significant backing whilst retaining the feel of an independent developer.

They've already developed hugely successful games such as the fantastic Sea of Thieves, SpongeBob Square Pants – Battle for Bikini Bottom, Rehydrated and The Guild 3.

The studio has begun developing two new and as yet unannounced multi-platform projects. While I can't tell you much about the projects just yet what I can say is that they're going to be bigger than SpongeBob (if such a thing is possible!)

As one of the studio's Senior Programmers you'll be working on one of these new initiatives and participating in its design and architecture.

You'll work in close unison with the Lead Programmer and a wider team of 16 programmers to implement major features in the project. You'll be responsible for code architecture, task estimations and risk management and contribute to the continuous development of tools and technology for both specific projects and the wider studio as a whole.

You can expect to be participating in a variety of aspects of game development, from gameplay to AI, Tools and Plug-ins to name a few.

The skills and experience you'll bring to the role…

  • 4+ years game development experience
  • Excellent C++ skills
  • Experience with Unreal Engine
  • Knowledge in software architecture and design patterns
  • Console development experience
  • Good English skills (written and oral)

The perks and benefits on offer include…

  • Flexible working hours
  • 25 days of paid holidays per year
  • Additional holidays – 12 'bank holidays' a year
  • 14 pay checks a year!

The studio has a creative, friendly, multicultural and positive work environment and provides excellent relocation support, to make you feel at home as quickly as possible.

To find out more about the role, the studio and their working culture contact Philip Boltt for a confidential chat.
