Sci-Fi loving Senior Systems Designer Required – Manchester, UK – Circa £38,000 

Here's your opportunity to get involved in a hugely anticipated sci-fi game. This project was the worlds biggest kickstarter – ring any bells? Millions of people are waiting to waiting to play it, and here's your chance to make your mark!

You'll be joining the team in Wilmslow (just outside Manchester), working to help lead the effort in creating gameplay systems and technical vehicle item setup for the game.

Here’s a taste of what you’ll be doing…

· Design and develop new features for the 'Squadron' and 'Universe' (you must've guessed the game by now!) working closely with the Lead Systems Designer and the Game Director to ensure the much-hyped vision for the title becomes reality.

· Be the “go to” person for the implementation of complex systems that stretch the capabilities of the engine and challenge the expectations of the players.

· Cleanly implement the design setup for vehicles and their associated gameplay systems.

· Be a leader within the department for cleanly implementing content with designer tools and scripting languages.

· Develop prototypes that clearly articulate the vision of the features for which you are responsible.

Here are the skills you’ll need…

· 5+ years of professional experience in game development – in a System/Tech Designer capacity

· Shipped (from pre-production to release) 2+, large scale, 3D titles (PC, current/next-gen consoles)

· Knowledge and experience with a visual scripting language.

· Must have knowledge in writing script to handle gameplay systems such as weapon balancing, navigation mechanics, basic AI behavior, and scripted sequences.

Here are some great “bonus” skills, but they aren’t essential…

· Knowledge and prior experience with multiple scripting languages or a C style programming language

· Experience with building behavior tree based AI.

· FPS gameplay experience.

· Massively Multiplayer Game experience.

· MP debugging experience.
