Senior Gameplay Programmer
IO Interactive – Copenhagen, DK
We are supporting the fantastic IO Interactive in their search for a Senior Gameplay Programmer to work on their as yet unannounced, AAA, multiplayer title.
I'm seeking a skilled programmer to join IO's game team and build out this exciting and unique project. You will be part of a core team of developers with the chance to impact how this exciting game will play and feel. If having a direct impact, finding creative solutions and sustainable development is appealing, then this is meant to be!
In short, your main responsibility will be to program features in areas such as character, camera, controls, combat, game mechanics, environment scripting and markup.
At the same time, IO want you to have a feel for the visceral, second-to-second player experience and interaction. Tell them what you know, inspire them, and show them what you mean by bringing it to life through great gameplay setup.
As a Senior Gameplay Programmer you will own and develop large features of the game. Be it strategic AI, camera control or progression systems, this game will feel like you!
Not only will you get to make the game come alive on screen, but to also make it an awesome and fun experience for players.
As a gameplay programmer with 3Cs experience, your input will be highly valued, as it will compliment the existing skillset internally.
As part of the project team, you will work cross-disciplinary with content providers, testers, game and level designers, animators, and other programmers to get a unified, ambitious and seamless player experience.
The skills and experience you'll bring to the role…
- 4+ years of gameplay programming experience, ideally on a AAA and/or multiplayer title
- Hands-on experience with AI and character, camera, controls
- Previously owned responsibility for features and saw them through from start to finish in collaboration with your team
- Knowledge of C++
- Solid understanding of programming best practices
- Strong of C#/ .NET. knowledge
- Well-founded in maths, algorithms and data structures
IO Interactive love to work with devs who are excited about their work and are always seeking to improve. So if you have a collaborative approach and like to learn from your colleagues and in turn impart your own knowledge this is the studio for you.
As a member of the IO team you will truly feel appreciated and get to see your work in a game played by millions. You will get to work on their multiplayer title, but also build the gameplay experience of future titles. Finally, you will be part of a crazy-good team of programmers who are really eager to have you on board!
