Dovetail Games are looking for a Core-tech team to develop their pipelines, graphics and animation for their Train Sim world titles. This is a chance to work for a studio producing real simulation software. Are you looking to work on some of the best tech in the industry?

They are a studio who want their people to be based “where they do their best work” from either their HQ or from your home (UK-based only / VISA sponsorship available). However, occasional travel to HQ office will be required for key meetings and events.

Based in a river-front building in the heart of the Historic Dockyard in Chatham, Kent, UK. They are growing fast, developing games using cutting-edge technology and delivering these on multiple platforms: PC, PlayStation 4 and 5 and Xbox One and Series S/X

Your role and responsibilities will include…
 

  • Researching and developing new game and engine features across multiple franchises
  • Constructing improvements for existing tech features and engine modifications
  • Game performance optimisation
  • Cross-discipline support and involvement in all aspect of game development working with Producers, Programmers, and Technical Artists
  • Working with the team to solve complex technical problems

The skills and experience you'll need…
 

  • Proficiency in C++ and software architectures
  • Comprehensive knowledge in one or more of: graphics, animation, physics, game development pipelines, multiplayer, streaming
  • Expertise in game engines architectures, game frameworks, tools and runtime
  • Comprehension of optimisation
  • A specialisation with Unreal engine
  • Familiarity with the architecture and constraints of current-gen and next-gen hardware
