How did you get into games as a hobby?
Growing up I had the original PlayStation and played games like Spyro and Crash Bandicoot an awful lot. Pokemon was a big one for me too. I still play now, of course, but WAY less than I’d actually like. Does that happen to everyone?

What’s your career background?
Before Aardvark I worked as a Marketing Assistant. I found that the role was more spreadsheets and analytics than I had expected. I’m quite a sociable person, so I felt a career in recruitment was a better path for me. Turns out, I was right.

What’s an average day look like for you at Aardvark Swift?
I usually get to the office really early and work my way through any emails and online applications that have come in overnight. I spend the rest of my day consulting with my candidates and clients through either Skype, by phone or Linkedin. Just chatting to people; finding out how I can help them..

What do you love most about your job?
There’s a lot to love about this job! I get to develop strong bonds and relationships with my candidates and studio clients, getting to know their needs and work towards fulfilling them. I also get to attend a lot of events like DEVELOP and Gamescom, which is always really exciting (and slightly overwhelming). Helping a studio scale up from a small indie, with a candidate you have a strong relationship with, is fantastic.

Favourite memory so far?
I once got a call from a candidate who had been made redundant. He was rightly stressed that he was unemployed. I jumped at the chance to help him find stable work again and within two days I had him in interviews. Within seven days we had him a new job!
