End of Year Awards – Aardvark Swift – Year 15
0

At the end of each financial year, we take a look back at how the team has done, where we thought we’d be, and where we’d like to be going forward. This year, our end of year retrospective and awards presentation came with a difference; we’ve undergone a bit of a refocusing!

We want to promote what makes us unique, the core values which are the foundation of the business, and filter that down into everything that we do. From our new tagline, “Driven by Games, Fuelled by Talent”, to our flatter management structure, and expanded career progression opportunities for the team; it’s an incredibly exciting time to be part of the Aardvark family.

Taking the time to look back at what contributed to our growth and success, we’ve identified five core values which we will uphold and rate ourselves against.

Our annual end of year awards, for individual performance and achievement, were graded against these core values this year, and we’ve got some exciting news to spotlight and share with you!

To celebrate 12 months of hard work, Daniel Hawkins was promoted to Senior Recruitment Consultant. His responsibilities have expanded, including the territories and disciplines he is now responsible for. Daniel now handles art and animation roles throughout the UK.

The award requires very little introduction. Chris Mellor (Senior Recruitment Consultant) was awarded this for single-handedly billing the largest amount over the last 12 months. Working closely with a number of candidates, many returning to Chris to continue their career journey, he’s worked hard to ensure that as many of his candidates as possible have access to that next perfect role.

Making an instant impact within the team and the business, it’s hard to remember a time when Jasmin Ali wasn’t a vital part of our recruitment efforts. She’s regularly placed candidates in fantastic roles, both at home and abroad, overachieving all targets given to her whilst being a beacon of positivity within the office.

Voted on by their peers, the Player’s Player goes to the member of the team who has gone above and beyond to support the efforts of the business and who has been seen as the embodiment of our core values. This year, we had ourselves a tie between Jordan Bateman (Recruitment Consultant) and David Heath (Marketing Assistant)! Both have done incredible work. Jordan was highlighted for his efforts on the programming desk, supporting the new members of the team, whilst David has worked tirelessly to support the business and the sales team through analytical and logistical analysis.

The Manager’s Player is voted on by the whole Senior Management Team and goes to the person who they feel has really aided the needs of the business and supported their peers the most in the last 12 months. As the person writing this blog post, it feels incredibly unnatural to write anything positive about myself, so please forgive the next sentence. The reasons given included always being available to provide support at a moment’s notice, a constant positive attitude, and going above and beyond to deliver projects. (Let’s just hope they don’t ask to do a recount of the votes.)

The awards aside, a huge congratulations is extended to the entire team. We have undergone our best year on record, and that comes during a trying and uncertain time. The positive work ethic and the effort put in by everyone, even during the sometimes uncomfortable lockdown and remote conditions, can’t be understated.

We really have a fantastic group within the four walls of Aardvark, and as we grow, we look forward to welcoming more like-minded people into the fold!
