Now that we’ve all had time to either engross ourselves in or avoid the world of Death Stranding, it’s time for another round-up of this week’s video game news! Hideo Kojima broke records, not with his most recent release, but due to his Twitter following. He took to the platform to announce that he’d been recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records as having the most followers on Twitter for a video game director. He didn’t stop there, also picking up a second record for his Instagram following. The awards were presented on Death Stranding’s promotional tour, showing the cult of Kojima has no sign of slowing.

In international news, China have implemented a law to control microtransaction spending and will ban young people from playing games after a 10pm curfew. The ban means that no one under the age of 18 is able to game between the hours of 10pm to 8am. This also extends to an overall time limit ban of no longer than 90 minutes each day, or 3 hours on weekends. We put the question to you if this was a good idea by the Chinese government, and the results were self-explanatory really…
CONTROL, the sleeper hit by Remedy and 505 Games, has been shortlisted for Game of the Year by Official Playstation Magazine. At the time of writing, the supernatural narrative hit is winning!
