Welcome to the debut of Weekly Games Patch, a roundup of industry relevant news and releases for you to look forward to. It feels like only yesterday that Hideo Kojima left Konami for the protective bosom of Sony. Yet, here we are, the week of Death Stranding‘s release. Critics have already taken their shots at the next instalment in Kojima’s pantheon, and it’s fair to say that opinion is evenly divided. If games were food, Death Stranding would be Marmite. If you’re feeling brave enough, you can check out IGN’s review here. If you’d rather let the game do the talking, you can check out the final narrative trailer below.

The game has been called everything from “the most beautiful game ever” to “boring”, but when we asked if you were going to let other people’s opinions sway your shopping habits via Twitter, opinion was also divided!

In other Kojima Productions news, the cult developer also expressed interest outside of video games. Kojima wants to break into film. He remarked, “if you can do one thing well, then you can do everything well,” when speaking to BBC Newsbeat. Maybe let’s wait for the audience reception first?
