The Educational Zone returned to PLAY Expo for its second year, and it was a huge success!
Over 20,000 gaming fanatics joined us in Manchester for the north’s biggest video gaming expo. Taking place over two days, PLAY Expo features everything from retro games and tournaments, to esports, guest speakers, cosplay, VR, merchandise and YouTube and Twitch stars.
We ran the Educational Zone for the second year in a row, where we were joined by:
“We had so much fun,” says Danielle Simmons, Digital Eagle Leader.
“It was so inspiring to see the different variations of education available to children and students, from our code playgrounds, to creating those amazing glasses, to support from recruitment and college courses.”
Visitors took part in hands-on workshops ran by ARTRONIX where they made their own steampunk goggles and micro-controllable ears and experienced interactive 3D printing with 3D GBIRE and Digital Eagles.
Local colleges and universities showcased their students’ indie games, while the University of Kent ran an exciting VR psychology experiment using volunteers.
Thanks to everyone who joined us – we hope you enjoyed the weekend as much as we did!
