Environment Artist – Amsterdam 

This is a rare opportunity to join one of Europe's leading game development studios who are responsible for one of the most iconic games of 2017. From 2000, they have been pushing the boundaries of technical and artistic excellence, recently releasing a major AAA game to critical success with sales well into the millions.

To keep up with the momentum generated from their most recent success, our client are now on the lookout for a Environment Artist

What you will do

  • You will be part of a team of Artists who strive to create lush, compelling and immersive worlds
  • You will focus on providing the creative teams with natural assets you have created – including mockups, detailed sculpts, game meshes and texture bakes
  • You will create mountain peaks, river rocks, and everything in-between
  • You will build natural set pieces and vistas, giving our players the best open world experience they have seen to date
  • You will adhere to the studio’s stringent quality control measures and technical specifications
  • You will be responsible for managing a library of both source and game content

Who You Are

  • You have shipped at least one title
  • You have an eye for detail, composition, and story telling
  • You are comfortable with both technical and artistic aspects of Environment Art
  • You can reliably work in a large, diverse team who depends on your output
  • You enjoy both receiving and giving constructive criticism, and are happy to share your knowledge with others

Plusses

  • Have a passion for narrative experiences and nature documentaries
  • Have experience in building shader networks
  • Have used Zbrush, Maya, Substance, World Machine, game editors
