Frankly, there’s no better time to be looking at games jobs. Whether you’re a programmer, technical artist or game designer, the industry is booming and studios are competing to offer a range of increased benefits to entice the best of the best to work with them on their projects.
The games industry has made significant efforts to create better and more productive working conditions in recent years. It says a lot that company culture has improved so much that games studios including Riot Games are now being named as some of the best places to work. We want to continue this progress, and that’s why we’re happy to sponsor the GamesIndustry.biz Best Places To Work Awards.
“Time and time again we see that the studios which look after their staff are the most coveted in recruitment,” says Aardvark Swift MD Ian Goodall.
“Company culture and development opportunities are now some of the biggest factors when deciding on where to move next, and it’s not hard to see why. We’re excited to be working with Gamesindustry.biz on the Best Places To Work awards to shine a spotlight on those studios who get working practices right, so that they can act as a role model to be followed in our industry.”
The judging process gives a solid overview of the qualities of each participating company, collated based on anonymous surveys for employees and another for employers. The awards are open to all UK-based games companies of any size, from studios to publishers and service providers – so there’s no excuse not to sign up!
Only the highest rated games workplaces shown by the survey will be revealed. Those who don’t make the top places won’t be named or published, but will be provided with feedback on methods they can use to improve their score next year.
You have until August 28th to take part, and the winners will be unveiled in September in an event as part of EGX!
